Unlike the overly-specialized defense industrial base, Kinetic aims to recapture the American advantage from World War II, when victory was obtained by outpacing the adversaries’ abilities to produce armaments with inexpensive, effective, and robust defense solutions.
US countermeasures fail in unison; they are overly specialized, leading to low quantity production and prices many orders of magnitude above material costs. Even if price is not a factor, these systems are too bespoke to be manufactured at the scale necessary to counter the volume of threats in future conflicts.
The upfront cost of generalizing countermeasures to cover a large category of threats is vastly outweighed by the efficiency of mass-producing a product with no customization. A few generalizable products can counter 90% of all kinetic threats.
At Kinetic, we believe long-term durability comes from speed in the right direction. All other moats can be bridged. The US needs Palantir’s human-driven real-world data analysis, Anduril’s transformative capabilities on the edge, and the maritime advantage that Saronic provides. We also desperately need generalizable systems to out scale the volume of threats for which the US has no answer. Kinetic provides inexpensive, generalizable systems at scale.
